Peter Hannan reports in the Sydney Morning Herald (20/10/14):

"A member of the federal government panel that called for an end to renewable energy support has bought solar panels, despite advocating the end of subsidies for them. Brian Fisher, one of the four members on the hand-picked Warburton review, said the recent purchase of panels for his farm near Wallaroo was not hypocritical, given his panel's recommendation that all consumer subsidies be abolished. ...

"Dr Fisher is reported to have installed a 4-kilowatt system on his farm this month, prompting John Grimes, chief executive of the Australian Solar Council, to dub him a 'solar hero'. 'He knows that it will save him a massive amount of money and help bring down electricity prices for everyone', Mr Grimes told RenewEconomy".
