Lake Elizabeth in the Great Otways National Park (and near the township of Forrest) was formed more than 50 years ago when a land slide caused the valley to be flooded leaving the trunks of old trees. The lake is home to platypus and the banks lining the nearby trails are lit up at night in a magnificent display by fireflies.
